How to make vegan fried rice – a dish that satisfying your appetite, boost energy, easy, and quick to make. Sometimes it is difficult to choose a simple menu for everyday life, besides, we don’t have much time to prepare and cook. This vegan fried rice recipe will give you an inspirational. Because it is simple, hasty, and super duper yummy.
The history of fried rice
According to the history, the origin of fried rice from China. It is found in the Sui dynasty in 589-618 AD. They recook left over rice and mix with meat, egg, pork or chicken.
Afterward, Chinese merchant bring the recipe, all over the world include in Indonesia. Here, we modified the recipe and make our own version base on our taste and what we have. There are varied recipe and usually we call it from the main ingredient, for example: nasi goreng telur, nasi goreng terasi, nasi goreng sayur, nasi goreng kambing, nasi goreng kunyit etc.
Did you know, in Indonesia, it is common to serve fried rice for the breakfast. Usually we use left over rice from last nite.
How to make vegan fried rice.
We use simple ingredients like shallot, garlic, chilli and some vegetables, or whatever you have got in your fridge. You can use your creativity to make this simple dish, and I never have fix recipe for fried rice.
But, before you start to cook fried rice you need to prepare these:
1 bowl of rice
2 shallots, chop
2 garlics, chop
2 chilli, chop. Skip if you don’t like spicy.
Napa cabbage.
First
Heat the wok, add some 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, stir fried the chop ingredients till fragrant.
Second
Add rice, and napa cabbage, mix well.
Third
Add sweet soy, I used brand “Bango”, soy sauce, salt and pepper as you like. Mix well.
Fourth
Taste the fried rice, and cook around 7 minutes. Finally, You can serve with slice of tomato, cucumber and kerupuk [Indonesian cracker]
